The Acceptance is a short film produced by our members, Sarah and Tanya during their six-week retreat at Sarah's family cabin in Lake Tahoe. The film features music by guitarist Sean Madden and spoken word artist Tapes & Tubes.

The footage was taken entirely on an iPhone 6S and assembled for the Exhibition De Cacaofabriek in Helmond, Holland for September 2018.

“If nothing had any meaning, you would be right. But there is something that still has meaning…”

- Albert Camus, Second Letter to a German Friend, December 1943

Only when the absurd struggle and its permanence is accepted can happiness be found within it. But how do we accept the meaninglessness and emptiness we feel within? Days go by and life feels endless, uncertainties arise and anxieties take over. Reconnection with the inner self, in a world outside the confines of the city, brings a new understanding of who we are and the impermanence of life, allowing us to find acceptance in the present moment.
